Somethin' to laugh about...
Hm, the 'something' is a, in reality, a amateur hacker. I don't want to laugh about
the real hackers out there, I know you know how to get access to systems, but this
guy was just too stupid, but continue:
That's how everything began: Just surfing the web, I heard a Protoss calling in some language I can't understand - my ICQ sound sheme. Somebody requested a ICQ chat, subject 'waana have a game'. I accepted and now, the first thing I said was 'Hi', but the guy at the other end, calling himself 'Ben' alleged living in Bruxelles, the capital of Belgium, just asked 'Can I send you the file now?'. Me, now just carefully asked what game it is. 'I'll send it to you, open it and see yourself', the guy replied. 'No, tell me first.', I answered. 'It's a kind of combat game', he said. 'But what type of game', I wanted to know. He said nothing. 'Is it like Mortal Kombat or which game?'. Instead of answering to my question, the guy just typed in 'Do you like Mortal Kombat?'. I was really not trusting this person from now on, to know more about the game, I asked him in which language he wrote it in. He told me he is French, but the program displays are in English. I aplogized for just saying language, correcting me with 'Sorry, I mean in which programming language did you write it?'. He somehow didn't react. That was the first point. If somebody writes a program, and then a game, he KNOWS which programming language he used. He added another time that he's French and doesn't understand 'programming language'. I described but he didn't answer. Me, wanting to really know now which one he used - 'Is it BASIC or PASCAL'. 'basic, I think', he added. 'The basic for windows or dos?'. 'windows' he answered. Ok, next thing I asked him was, how long it took time to write the program. No answer. Now there was another Protoss sound, a file transfer descripted 'game' this time. I accepted the transfer, and after it was finished the guy asked: 'How is it?', thinking I would have been so stupid to open his file immediately. Instead of opening, I executed a program, Borland Resource Workshop, I had this from my old programming language. Looking in the file called 'GAME..EXE' (two dots!), I noticed it isn't Visual Basic in which it's written in, but it is Delphi. Having switched back to ICQ chat, I told him if he wants to make fun of me. First, it isn't Visual Basic, and he told me he doesn't know much English, but his programming language is in English (because of English strings)!! 'One sec...', I told him. Now I opened the Netbus archive I downloaded some time ago from a hacker site. Looking if the file sizes match each other, I noticed the one he sent me was 10 KB smaller. 'Ok, I'll open it now.', I said. I clicked on it, nothing happend I just could hear my harddisk writing. Me, shocked, immediately ran COMMAND.COM, and typed 'dir' to see if any files would have been deleted from my harddisk. Puh, no files have been erased, but if some have, I haven't noticed yet, in fact they aren't important then. Now I had an idea, and 'cause I have Windows 98, I opened the execute command line (you know what I mean), and typed 'msconfig'. In there, I immediately opened the 'Autostart' card. There was it in, 'GAME..EXE' called, running the program 'C:\WINDOWS\GAME..EXE /nomsg'. Just some lines above that entry, I noticed 'PATCH.EXE', 'C:\WINDOWS\PATCH.EXE'. I knew this file was from Netbus, I tried it out myself this time and ran the PATCH.EXE. Now I knew this guy abused my trust in people to have fun...I switched back to ICQ chat, shouting 'So is it a trojan?' at him. He, laughing out loud that he succeeded, hacked in his keyboard, bringing 'What? Yes, it is a trojan and F*** YOU' on my screen. I didn't know what to do now, but then this guy opened my CD drive with the Brood War CD in. Not thinking of anything else, I pressed the POWER button on my computer and it was out. No more hacking on my computer.
As fast as possible, I connected again, trying to find this a**h****. I didn't find him. I know why, he just changed his name and where he comes from in his ICQ details. Maybe he used the details of someone else, I'm not sure. All I know now is, that I should have quit the ICQ chat to save it, and then have turned off my computer. Maybe I would have found him again if I did so, but I didn't.
I restarted again, and searched my whole harddisk for viruses and found some - always the nice 'Netbus 1.07/Patch' trojan. I deleted every file, scanned again - he didn't find anything else.
I'm lucky I haven't taken any damage from that, I have only learned something: I should never trust strange people at once.
Anyways, this guy is just too stupid, I bet I would have been better if I would have been him. First, it was just too obvious that it wasn't a game he wanted to give me, 'cause he didn't know in which language he programmed it, and next, his behavior in general wasn't really believable.
ITo all other hackerz who probably read this, plz don't hack my page now, you have proved it with other page hacks...
and ppl: The net is a dangerous place, especially if you use ICQ (you know these little programs...)!
Finally, there's just one thing left, I'm thinking about installing ICQ, these are the two reasons:
- F***ed up my registry, my comp runs a whole slower now
- There are these little programs which, for example, send anonymous ICQ messages to me or which display my IP number, even if I don't want it.
/me now stops writing finally.

E-Mail address change
Ok guys, don't think now I change my e-mail address 'cause I've nothing else to post ;) The old one had a suffix with @gmx.at, but the funny thing at it is that the "at" stands for Austria, but I am German, living in Germany, which is "de", so I got the new e-mail address which is [email protected] now. If you just have sent one a few minutes ago, don't worry, the old one will still remain for some time. Please update you e-mail address books etc. Thanks.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Ok, for the full post head over to the Offical SCAIEdit Website to read it.
Future plans
Ok, I will do a remodel of this page again, and then, I will found my own SC site. Unfortunately, I haven't found a name for it yet...but I have found some staff members I'll ask them if they want to join and if they want there won't be more members for some time. But if one or more don't want, somebody of you might be able to join. So guys, if somebody of you is interested in probably being a staff member, just send me an "application" to [email protected] or contact me via ICQ. Maybe you will be, maybe not ;)

Reason is, I've found a neat program when I was surfing around the web.
It's called WindowBlinds and let's you change Windows' titlebars, buttons etc.You can take a look to the screenshots 1 - 2 or head directly over to StarDock
to get it. The name is WindowBlinds, but I think you'll find it ;)But remember: The prog may have some errors sometimes in displaying.

To let you know, if you haven't been to my page yesterday: I'm collecting your ideas to the
script competition. What would you do if you were in charge of it? So if you have any ideas to
the script competition, please send them to me or post them in the SCAIEdit help forum.
Also, if you like one of the following ideas, please send me an e-mail to [email protected]!The ideas I got were just few, that doesn't matter because the ones I got were very good.
For example, Bob Dole has sent me the following idea (copy/paste):1. Make a theme for a week or however amount of time u want to allow, then
have people send them in. They will be rated on their effectiveness ( how
good the strategy is ) and marked down for any flaws they have.
I would say you would give them a score out of ten for their strategy, then
hack off one point for each flaw. Also, I think they should be rated by 4 or
6 people. Why? So a person actually has to get about 75% or 66% of the group
( a larger majority than 3/5) to win.
2. Basically the same, but people can send in any style scipt they want, but
now rated on if it gets the job done, if it is unique, and how complex it
is, so no lame rushes can work.
Oh, and the winner should get a nice graphic to put on his site or his
posts.I think this is a very good idea, if you also like this idea, please e-mail me, so that I can take
it to the next results. Another one that I got was from Lava (copy/paste):Below I copied the contents of an email I sent to Dark-Vengeance about how
I would run the AI Script Competition if I was in charge and other ideas I had on it:
> First I would create a suitable map, kind of like the one I sent you but a
> lot more detailed and with things such as expansions, etc. I would then make
> a list of all the rules for the tournament. Interested users could download
> the rules and the map, and base their AI script around it. Then when you
> decide, I would allow users to sign up. To sign up, all you need to do is
> send an IAF or ASC2 containing your script. I would check every single
> script to make sure they work, then I would create the tournament tree, in
> the form of a single-elimination tournament.
>
> Next I would make a CWAD containing both the AI scripts competing, and a
> version of the map using it. I would decide on times for each match. The two
> competitors, me, you, _Dark_Knight_, and anyone else you want will get
> copies of the CWAD. At the specified time in a specified bnet channel, I
> would host the game using the CWAD and the map, then let the other viewers
> join. If the people who made the AI's aren't there, then too bad, we start
> anyways. Whoever wins goes on until they get to the finals. Also, this idea is very good. Some people may want to know what I would do if I was
in charge of the script competition:What I would do is in general based on the idea of Jørgen Palmhøj, which says
the following:> I think you should put all the Zerg scripts in one group, Terran in another, and
> Protoss in the last. Then they play against each other and the best from
> each group (Zerg, Terran and Protoss) meet each other and the one that wins,
> WINS!I would take two ways: The idea of ,Jørgen Palmhøj, but also make a jury rating the
scripts. We have two winners, one for "comp vs. comp" and "jury rating". This just
would be good because those who are in the jury could take part in the "comp vs. comp"
script competition. If I was in the jury and we rate my own script, it just wouldn't be
fair, but I want to take place in the competition, so this is my only solution at the moment. The jury rating would be exactly the way Bob Dole suggested.
ASC2edit 0.7 progress
I have some plans for this weekend. First, I will create the two multi-race AIs and then I'll
continue working on ASC2edit. It may take time until Monday or Tuesday, I want to include
the ASC2 syntax checker and calling with file as parameter and some other until then...
(Next update planned: June 21, 1999)

Script competition
The news of today are to all of you who are complaining why that the script
competition is still not here. I think because _Dark_Knight_ and Dark-Vengeance
don't know exactly how it should be, maybe you will complain again about it when it's
here, so it's up to you: It would be good if you could send me your ideas to it, like should
it be "Script against comp rating" or a jury rating the scripts. And what races should the
script use, I think it would be much better to take multiple competitions, the first one to
"Terran script again Zerg comp" etc. Remember to send the ideas to me or to post them
in SCAIEdit help forum because I haven't talked about this with _Dark_Knight_ and
Dark-Vengeance and I don't know if they have time to collect all ideas etc. After I got
some I will update my site again with ideas, how many liked this idea etc. and of course,
let you know in the forum. Please send them to [email protected]!

Over 1000 visits!
First, thanks to all out there who visited my site. After the release of SCAIEdit II
I got much more visits, so especially thanks to _Dark_Knight_ for announcing my
site in the Links section of the Offical SCAIEdit Website! And of course, good luck
to Dark-Vengeance who is now webmaster of the site and to _Dark_Knight at
Camelot Systems.New page design
I have not been lazy the last days and put up a new design. Hope
you like it ;) The links in the frame on the left, I don't think I should
replace them with buttons, maybe I'll do.ASC2edit 0.6/ASC to ASC2 converter
Wonder, why I haven't made some scripts/tutorials the last time?
I've been programming two useful programs, one "bringing back the
SCAIEdit I interface", named ASC2edit which is in version 0.6 now.The second one is the ASC to ASC2 converter, as the name says it converts
the old ASC files to ASC2.Download ASC2edit 0.6 (105 KB, zipped)
Download ASC to ASC2 converter BETA (105 KB, zipped)Warning: Both programs can't insert/convert the bugged ASC2 commands!
Please see the README.TXT in the archive for more information!Scripts
S.C.ripts' scripts are now uploaded, unfortunately not in IAF format.
I try to put them in IAF until the next update. My scripts are available in ASC2 and IAF format because I took my ASC files and converted
them.
